Title: Assessing Beyond Tests and Papers
Location: Online Webinar (Free from ASU)
Read more: Click here
Description: In many college classrooms, assessment comes in the form of traditional tests and papers. Assessment provides the basis for making judgments on the grades assigned to students. The question arises whether or not tests and papers are a complete measure of what students know and can do. This webinar will focus on other ways to assess student learning that is learner-centered where students can effectively demonstrate what they’ve learned.

Start Time: 3:00 pm
Date: September 16th, 2010

Description: Esperanza Latino Teacher Awards:

One of the most important and lasting influences in a child’s life is his or her teacher. Teachers unlock the minds of our children and provide the essential foundation they need to become productive and successful members of the community. Realizing the important work teachers complete in difficult environments, Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) made the decision to honor this group of unsung heroes. Established in 1999, CPLC along with its corporate and community partners initiated the Esperanza Latino Teacher Awards; which when translated means “hope” Teacher Awards.
