America's Students Are In A Global Race For The Best Jobs And Quality Of Life.  It's Up To All Of Us To Help Them Succeed.

Studies show that America's students are falling behind their peers in other industrialized countries in academic performance, high school graduation rates and postsecondary degree attainment. Their success is determined by the strength of our education system. It's up to all of us to make it better. Here are just a few of the facts about what's happening at a national and global level.

  • Two-thirds of the jobs of the future will require a college degree or advanced training
  • America was the only country out of 23 that didn’t show an increase in postsecondary degree attainment from 2000-2005
  • The United States’ production of college graduates has fallen from 30% to 14% globally
  • Fifty percent of college freshmen have to take some level of remedial courses, costing education institutions and taxpayers an estimated $2 billion annually
  • America ranks 21st in high school graduation rates among the top industrialized countries
  • America’s 15 year olds rank 25th in math and 21st in science compared to their peers around the globe
