Facts About Expect More Arizona

About Expect More Arizona

  • Expect More Arizona is a public-private partnership dedicated to increasing public awareness about the importance of strengthening education in our state. The partnership is creating a movement of passionate, actively engaged Arizonans who value education as our state’s top priority and are working to ensure our students graduate with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete, contribute and succeed in a 21st Century global economy.
  • The Partnership was created through the work of the Governor's P-20 Council and the P-20 Communications Committee. It has now evolved into an independent, nonpartisan statewide partnership.
  • Expect More Arizona is governed by an Oversight Board of funders including representatives from First Things First, Helios Education Foundation, the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, Rodel Charitable Foundation of Arizona, Arizona State University and the Arizona Community Foundation.
  • The Arizona Community Foundation serves as the fiscal agent for all contributions made in support of Expect More Arizona.

Expect More Arizona Partners

  • In addition to the Oversight Board, Expect More Arizona solicits input from statewide communities and growing list of key stakeholders including the Arizona Department of Education, Arizona State Board of Education, Arizona Board of Regents, Governor’s P-20 Council, P-20 Council Communications Committee, Greater Phoenix Leadership, Southern Arizona Leadership Council, Arizona Business and Education Coalition, Science Foundation Arizona, the Foundation for Public Education and more.     

Expect More Arizona Goals

  • Our goal is to create a statewide movement of Arizonans who value education as our state’s top priority and are actively engaged in strengthening the entire education continuum—from birth to career.
  • The Partners intend to maintain a consistent, statewide presence over several years in order to:
  • Educate about the importance of the entire P-20 education continuum (Early Learning, K-12 and Postsecondary Education) and the inter-connectedness of each stage.
  • Increase public awareness of the issues affecting education in Arizona and their impact on individuals, local communities and our state.
  • Build public support for education as our state’s top priority.
  • Provide Arizonans with opportunities to be actively involved in strengthening education in our state.
  • Mobilize Arizonans to support people, programs and policies supportive of education.

Expect More Arizona Target Audiences

  • Expect More Arizona is intended to be a movement for all Arizonans because it will take all of us to strengthen education in our state.
  • The goal is to create a movement of Arizonans including educators, parents, students, business, community and philanthropic leaders, media, and policymakers who value education as our state’s top priority. 

Elements of the Expect More Arizona Movement 

  • Expect More Arizona is supported by a multi-media public awareness campaign which includes television, radio, print and out-of-home advertising.
  • ExpertMoreArizona.org is a robust web site which educates and informs Arizonans about what is happening in education as well as engages them to help strengthen education in our state.
  • In addition, the Expect More Arizona movement is developing a volunteer Speaker’s Bureau to speak to local communities across the state. If you want to request a speaker or become a Speaker, please contact us at  info@ExpectMoreArizona.org.

Ways to get involved

  • Sign Up – Sign up for year-round communications from Expect More Arizona. We’ll keep you informed about what’s happening in education and present ongoing opportunities for you to get involved in strengthening education in our state.
  • Tell Your Friends – Let your friends know about Expect More Arizona and rally their support of the effort. You can forward information from the ExpectMoreArizona.org or request a speaker to speak to your workplace, professional association, school or community group.
  • Promote The Cause – There are many ways for you to help spread the word about Expect More Arizona and the importance of strengthening education in our state.   
  • Be A Voice – The goal is create a movement of Arizonans who are vocal champions for education in our state. Let your legislator know that you want increased support of education and vote for people, programs and policies supportive of education.
  • Get Involved – There are many ways to get actively involved in helping to strengthen education in our state including volunteering at a local school, running for a school board, mentoring students, helping the Expect More Arizona movement and more.
  • Invest in Education - Make a financial investment in education by taking advantage of state tax credits, supporting local teachers or investing in the Expect More Arizona movement.
