Arizona’s Students Are In A Race For The Best Jobs And Quality Of Life. Don’t Let Them Fall Behind.

The success of Arizona’s students in competing in a knowledge-based global economy is dependent upon the quality of education in our state. Although there are many successes in Arizona, our students are falling behind their national and international peers in academic performance, high school graduation rates, and postsecondary completion.

As an employer and business leader, you are a powerful force with the ability to significantly impact education in our state.  By lending your voice and leadership, you play a key role in creating a movement of Arizonan’s who value education as the top priority in our state. And with Arizona’s students being your future employees and customers, you will reap the rewards of a more highly skilled workforce.  

Regardless of where you stand on Arizona’s rankings and performance, there’s no question that we need to do everything possible to ensure our students are graduating with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete, contribute and succeed in the 21st Century.

Here are six ways you can help strengthen education in our state:

Stay Informed about Education in Arizona - There are many perspectives about the issues and opportunities related to education in Arizona today. Use your knowledge to educate your peers and employees, building the case for strengthening education throughout our state.  

Advocate for and Support Increased Standards, Performance and Investment - In order to keep up with their national and international peers, Arizona’s students must be challenged to meet increased standards, graduate and go on to succeed in postsecondary education.  It will require higher academic standards and increased investment in education.  You are an important voice for encouraging policymakers to support the needs of our students in Arizona.

Encourage Your Employees to Get Involved – Strengthening education in Arizona will take all of us.  Encourage your employees to join the Expect More Arizona movement and get involved. Need someone to rally your staff? Request an Expect More Arizona Speaker to visit your workplace.   

Provide Access to Your Personal and Professional Networks – Creating a movement strong enough to impact education requires extensive grassroots outreach to groups across the state. We can provide you with the materials to give a presentation yourself or provide an Expect More Arizona Speaker to deliver the message for you. 

Make a Financial Investment – There are many ways to financially support education in Arizona such as taking advantage of state tax credits, adopting a school or supporting a local teacher.  Find out more about how you can Invest in Education.

Join the Expect More Arizona Movement – Lending your voice and leadership in support of education can be a powerful influence in our state.  By signing up, you pledge your support to make education the top priority in Arizona.
